Great Pack with Some Considerations

Tried several systems over the years for saltwater flats fishing. Landed on this over Patagonia designs and other smaller brands. Use it with Plano dry boxes (3540) for conventional lures/terminal tackle, and keep plastics in their various baggies. Right balance in storage room, having enough for a small hard lure box, terminal tackle box (hooks/jig heads/ snaps/ etc), and plastics bags, but not too much room that it becomes a burden when wading. Personally use it as a sling-style over back and bring it around to front when needed. Only improvement would be the loop front for lures. Really like it as of now, but for longevity of use (can see ripping and adding lures off it not lasting too long), is to switch to either replaceable foam panel or stronger magnet panel like other tackle organizers out there. Great product otherwise!

Falls off

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Received 04-12 and worn once., Waistbelt will not maintain tightness and loosens while wearing. It kept slipping off my waist in the river due to poor design. Simms refuses to refund because it's used. Simms products fill my closet and have always been my favorite line but will not have the next 30 yrs. of my fishing business due to poor customer service policies!

Pretty good Waist belt sucks.

I like this pack and all its features. I have one complaint: the belt straps are very annoying. When you try to slide the pack to your front or push it back behind you, it gets caught, making it hard to slide on your waist. This is because the waist straps are connected to the pack, so moving the pack involves moving the straps, and the friction between your straps and your hips makes it difficult. I have no idea why it was built this way. It is the only hip pack Simms makes with the waistbelt stitched into the pack. To get 5 stars, all Simms would need to do is attach loops to the pack and a waistbelt going through that so it would slide on the belt for easier access.

Throughly Disappointed

I bought this pack for trout fishing on day trips or to be stuffed in a rucksack for backpacking trips. The belt does not stay tight on your waist. With minimal movement the belt loosens and falls to the ground. Wearing it over the shoulder is a better option but when you net fish it flops all over as there is no stabilizing strap to secure your body. It just doesn’t seem like anyone who actually fishes had anything to do with the design of this bag. Throughly disappointed.
